Chapter 4 · Lesson 4 of 4
Iterative Prompting: Improve AI Prompts Step by Step
Iterate Like a Pro
Great prompts are rarely written in one try. Treat prompting as a loop: write a prompt, read the result, spot what is off, and adjust one thing at a time.
If the answer is too long, add a length limit. If it misses the point, add context. If the format is wrong, add an example.
Changing one thing per round makes it clear which change actually helped.
Quick check
The answer has the right content but is far too long. What is the best next step?
- A Start over with a completely different prompt
- B Add a specific length limit to the same prompt
- C Remove all the context
- D Ask the same thing again unchanged
Answer it in the game to earn +10 XP.
